Biden went on CNN Wednesday night for a presidential town hall hosted by Don Lemon. The outcome was what the country has come to expect from both CNN the network and Biden the president, as questions were answered with rambling, unintelligible nonsense.
In response to a question on gun violence, Biden started out with a bizarre claim that, “Crime is down. Gun violence and murder rates are up.” It remains unclear how the President is separating crime from murder and gun violence. Biden then tried to refocus saying, “Guns. I’m the only guy that ever got passed legislation when I was a senator, to make sure we eliminated assault weapons. The idea you need a weapon that can have the ability to fire 20, 30, 40,50, 120 shots from that weapon, whether it’s a, whether it’s a 9mm pistol, or whether it’s a rifle, is ridiculous.” Most will assume that Biden was referring to the number of rounds that fit in a magazine. Does the President know what a magazine is? Also interesting to note that Biden seemed to target not just semi-automatic rifles but pistols as well.
John Lanni, a restaurant group owner, asked Biden how his administration might incentivize workers to return to work. Biden’s response started with, “Well, two things, one, if you noticed, we kept you open.” Biden never did get around to the second thing. However, the first thing, “we kept you open” is eye-opening. This administration and the left as a whole, view the right to operate a business as a privilege granted by them to the common man. This response should be expected from the CCP and should be jarring when coming from a US President. Biden later added that “I think it really is a matter of people deciding now that they have opportunities to do other things and there’s a shortage of employees.” Biden never directly acknowledged that the “other things” might include sitting at home collecting enhanced unemployment benefits.
Yet another guest asked Biden about children masking in school. Biden responded by saying that the CDC is likely to recommend that all children under 12 will need to wear a mask in school. The inference is that any child that is not vaccinated will be forced to wear a mask. Don Lemon also seemed to be very concerned about the hoard of potential virus-carrying 8-year-olds and pressed the President on when young children would be approved to take the vaccine. Biden was not able to provide Lemon with a hard date. Lemon will need to remain in fear from the unmasked and unvaccinated faces of children for the near future.
What was the takeaway from the town hall? While unclear, it was nothing good. The President is still unable to complete a thought, but the fragments are concerning enough.
